LT-X Series Type 1 Surge Protector 50kA Iimp Lightning
Type 1 lightning arresters are designed for the fundamental phase of protection required at the entry points of buildings with outdoor lightning protection systems. Leitai Electric is based in China and produces SPDs of in-house production, testing, and quality control of Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 SPDs.

Applications & circuit protection
The LT-X15 / X30 / X50 is used in places where Type 1 lightning current arresters with Iimp 15/30/50kA are needed for service entrances and building with LPS. Major application of this protection is given below.
- Service entrances: Lightning impulse (10/350us).
- LPS buildings: Lightning protection systems.
- Power distribution system: first stage with Type 1 protection.
- Telecommunication centers: Telecom facilities.

The schematic presented above describes the internal protective circuitry and connection modes for a surge protection device, LT-X15 / X30 / X50.

Construction & operating reliability
The advanced development and use of graphite spark-gap components and durable enclosures in the LT-X15 and LT-X30 allow for high reliability and long life lightning current discharge operation. The SPD has to undergo assembly, aging, and impulse tests before packaging, with records of all tests kept for each order.
- Direct lightning current handling using the graphite spark-gap block.
- Reliable impulse discharge ensured by the arc extinguishing device.
- Housing rated IP20, flame resistant UL94 V0.
- Compliance with IEC 61643-11 / GB/T 18802.11 standards.

Type 1 Surge Protector FAQs: Common Buyer Questions Answered
Where is the LT-X15 / X30 / X50 installed?
In general, it is the location of the distribution equipment, from the main distribution up to the direct point of supply connection.
Can I get a quotation for a project?
Yes please, provide the Iimp, Uc, number of poles and number of units to receive the official price quote.
What is a Type 1 SPD for?
The Type 1 SPD protects the electrical equipment from direct lightning strikes (10/350us) and should be installed at the service entrance for the buildings equipped with external lightning protection systems.
Does it also provide surge protection?
The Type 1 SPDs also limit the surge overvoltage. In fact, the Type 1+2 SPDs unit supports both Type 1 SPD function and nominal discharge current capability.
What is Iimp?
Iimp is the impulse current (10/350us) which a SPD is able to discharge, for example, such value exceeds 25 kA per pole for the LT-X15 / X30 / X50.
